Family-run and American-made since 1976, Madrid Skateboards has been building decks out of its original Huntington Beach, California facility for nearly 50 years. Founder Jerry Madrid, a surfer and firefighter, brought his surfboard-shaping background to skateboarding and helped pioneer the modern concave deck. The brand hit its cultural peak in the 1980s with the Madrid x Valterra board ridden by Marty McFly in Back to the Future — later replicated in Stranger Things — and a landmark Vans collaboration widely credited as skateboarding's first co-branded shoe. Madrid still runs street and downhill teams today, and continues hand-crafting boards in the same California factory, competing on nearly five decades of heritage and genuine U.S. manufacturing.
