Krooked Skateboards was founded in 2002 by Mark Gonzales, widely regarded as the godfather of modern street skating. Gonzales helped invent street skateboarding itself in the 1980s, skating handrails, banks, and stairs in Los Angeles at a time when the sport revolved around ramps and pools; his part in Blind's 1991 video Video Days is considered one of the most influential in skateboarding history. After stints at Vision, Blind (which he co-founded), and Real Skateboards, Gonzales built Krooked as his own creative playground under Deluxe Distribution, the San Francisco company also behind Antihero, Real, Spitfire Wheels, Thunder Trucks, and Venture Trucks. Krooked's identity, loose, funny, art-driven, and built around Gonz's own hand-drawn graphics, mirrors his approach to skating itself. Recent Krooked releases include Up the Koast (2025), a full team promo featuring Bobby Worrest, Mike Anderson, Andrew Wilson, Una Farrar, and more, and Jump Platform (2026), which introduced new rider Daiki Hoshino alongside longtime team riders Worrest, Anderson, Cyprus Blanco, Simon Jensen, and Matt Gottwig.
