Baker Skateboards was founded in 2000 by professional street skater Andrew Reynolds after he left Birdhouse Skateboards, teaming up with artist Jay Strickland, whose raw, hand-drawn style shaped the brand's early identity. Distributed early on through Blitz Distribution, Reynolds became sole owner in 2002 and built Baker's reputation around unfiltered, lifestyle-driven street skating rather than polished contest runs. The team roster has included influential riders like Jim Greco, Erik Ellington, Dustin Dollin, Bryan Herman, and Kevin "Spanky" Long, and Reynolds later co-founded Bakerboys Distribution in 2007, which also backs brands like Deathwish Skateboards and Shake Junt.
